There are no problems like that known so far - at least as far as I know from other smart boards too.

This: Topic on smartmaniacs covers the issue quite well. Might be the wastegate opening prematurely, due to a vibration problem on the waste gate pressure sensor.
Appears to be a fix out by smart that they replace the waste gate pressure sensor, modify the mounting bracket and position the modified mounting bracket on the gear box so the vibration suffered at the air box is bypassed.
Also seems to be build specific at least two cars with this problem have a build date of Dec 09.
It is also a possibility that the Diesel Particulate Filter is clogged due to short runs, but the wastegate sensor fix seems to work.

Very interesting topic there on maniacs but imho much rubbish written there. Anyway the wastegate and/or DPF might be the problem so thoughts about that seem to be quite close to the solution.
